A bit of oily residue appears on the underside of the tank, but the mounts all look good. I replaced the fuel tsp "O" ring today. The problem I had with the tank moving was because the rear mount pulled off the rubber mount. I just have to push the tank a bit further forward before tightening the two bolts.

Bike is now back together, and there's lots more power and torque. These bikes are very easy to work on, even for those of us with little mechanical experience.
I'm really looking forward to the KI ride now.

Great to hear you are back on the road again Norm. I heard a deep sigh from all the water crossings within 5oo klicks of your place and I'm sure I heard them say "Oh no; he's back on the road again".

Great work Norm! Did you have a good look at your fuel tank mounting lugs? Three of mine have tiny cracks shown up by a bit of muddy looking dampness. I've got to get cracking with my preparation for departure to KI via Birdsville, last week in August. My mount cracked and spewed fuel everywhere a couple of times before i figured out part of the cause and the full cure. Lee

Both my bike's and Chris's both were leaking from the left rear tab. I have had mine welded, and we used exopy on Chris's last September.
