Thinking about a lap of oz with the missus. Might need to tow a small trailer. Anyone have, know of, or any info on a trailer hitch. My rig is a 2012 so warranty is not an issue.

G'day Tigger We did a 27,000 km ,6 month ,lap of oz with a Suzy 1100G/ DJP back in 81 . i reckon with the extra load capacity of the Ural over the DJP outfit you will have no need for a trailer, probably just more strain on the Ural weak bits and heaps more of the expensive outback fuel + the likelihood of taking excess gear you don't really need. On the 81 trip we traveled with a couple from Katherine with a Suzuki 1000G and trailer. In Darwin they posted home almost 30kg of excess luggage out of the trailer. Too much capacity can = too much stuff.😃 Not telling, just saying 👍

I hear you Macca! Have been at the point where it took 2hrs to pack the sidecar and trailer. Too much unused crap!! Tigga, Having said that, a trailer used to get the weight off the sidecar makes the whole rig a lot nicer to handle. Just take what you need.

Thanks guys.
I can see your point. Can't help but think a lightly loaded small trailer would allow for a few comforts (read. ..happy wife ). There are a few small trailers around but a tow hitch? ..... I could get one from England. ...or find a fabricator. Any suggestions.

Thanks Roscoau.
Might take your photo to a local fabricator. Looks like a lateral connection between hack and chair and a cross piece over to the chair (kinda a triangle )

Brilliant angle. Clears up a few questions.....a picture is worth. ...as they say. Sneak peek at the 2into 1. Does that help or hinder wheel change. I have the stock system and its a pain to get the wheel past.

The tow bar is a bigger issue, it definitely needs to be higher.

I have the stock system and its a pain to get the wheel past. With the stock exhaust, loosen the clamps on the muffler, muffler to catalytic converter and cat to header, then push the mufflers in as far as you can. Makes wheel removal a lot easier! Ask Lee Edwards and Dave Ross about their two into one with a right side muffler.
