Tow hitch...... Can be considerably shorter than Roscoau's..........make that. Should be. The triangle brace is not necessary. A straight tube mounted to the top of the longitudinal frame and over the top of the lateral should get close to the required height. Shortest hitch possible and longer trailer draw bar will work best. Narrow wheels with large diameter on trailer........Ural wheels perfect. A steering universal shaft pinned into the hitch will give you heaps better angles and security rather than a ball.........like an off-road 4x4 hitch. Don't have a square box with high sides......wind is the killer.
Two suggestions to cut down on the weight........ 1. Leave the wife home. 2. Don't tow.

Brilliant angle. Clears up a few questions.....a picture is worth. ...as they say. Sneak peek at the 2into 1. Does that help or hinder wheel change. I have the stock system and its a pain to get the wheel past. Forgive me if I err.......but is Roscau's exhaust just fitted incorrectly ? Why can't you just rotate the whole system and have the muffler on the right side ?

The only issue with doing just that is the slight upwards angle at the end, which is not really noticeable until you turn it over and fit it only to find it angling down. Easily fixed. I prefer it on the left to leave the FD clear.

Brilliant angle. Clears up a few questions.....a picture is worth. ...as they say. Sneak peek at the 2into 1. Does that help or hinder wheel change. I have the stock system and its a pain to get the wheel past. I'm about to modify my tow bar. a) the cross bracing is total overkill if the clamps on the main tube are good and solid. Mine were fabricated from plate as you see them so they are hollow but are really strong. Some people have used variations right down to muffler clamps and you can imagine how good that is. b) as you see it they bar is much too low. It's a good 130mm or so too low and scrapes easily. I'm going to totally remove the cross brace and mount the bar above the frame rail instead of below it. Contrary to what Lee said the bar can't be any shorter - once it's above the frame rail a hitch will be close - but not too close - to touching the sidecar body. Any shorter might be a problem.
