Rosscoe, go to your nearest bearing shop. They will have shims. Or go to Repco or such and buy a sheet of shim material and cut your own. Sissors will cut .05 just fine......no rocket science involved.

Good onya Rosscoau. I've been in the workshop too.... ... and... A bit fiddly but not too difficult........however, the disc on the rear has added heaps more stopping power.

I did the 'O' ring thing in the groove behind the splines on the Final Drive output shaft some time ago (concept, info. & piccy thanks to Lee Edwards) but figured there must be something else which could be done in addition to the 'O' ring to help keep the grease in and the crap out. I decided to have a look, so I removed the FD, cleaned up the spline area, removed the drive flange from the rear wheel and cleaned it up. In the FD housing is a nice (approx. 5mm x 5mm) square groove just begging for a felt wiper seal so I decided to make one. I already had a bit of 5mm thick felt to play with so I jagged that. I oiled the felt with motor oil after installation.
Felt seal dimensions I used are:OD = 68mmID = 52mmx 5mm thickI'll keep an eye on it and let the Forum know how it goes.

I'll keep an eye on it and let the Forum know how it goes. Two questions Bruce - 1) How did it go? 2) Does the ID allow for the O'ring or does the felt sit on top? Just realised the OD on the wheel side drive flange is OD 52mm so the felt should sit outside it?
