Owners of 2012 and 2013 bike should check the manufacturing date on each of the 4 alloy rims. Ural have had a high failure rate of rims stamped April 2013, and seem to in the US De to be replacing them all under warranty Here is a link to a SS thread which gives lots of info: www.sovietsteeds.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=378693#p378693

Hi,
how comes that a 2012 bike could have rims made 2013! Or was that a mistake in this article. Then I got a 2012 June built Tourist and it has rims stamped 2011 August on it. Our Russian Boys have to get the standard up in quality. I am aware large company like VW and Toyota have all the time recalls, But their names have already quality reputation all over it written. Still I like my Orange Ural Tourist.
