AndyH, yes it has made a difference to the handling, slightly better in both LH & RH turns. Biggest change I’ve noticed is that I sit more upright, previously I had to lean into the chair more often under normal road conditions. Ive quickly adjusted to the new steer/sitting position. I’m interested to see the New wear pattern on the tyres.

Left Bowen and the A1 behind for the backroad to Collinsville, plenty of mining traffic out that way and numerous open cut coal mines. Into Collinsville which is the Pit Pony capitol of Australia, a neat little town with a memorial to all the ponies who provided the labour to haul the coal. After a short fuel stop rolled on down the Peak Downes hwy to Nebo for an overnighter. Not much at Nebo but stayed at the "stay a while" van park powered site for $10. Good value as the evenings entertainment was watching the digging out of the parks septic tank adjacent to my tent site. Nebo pub was good and managed to grab a mixed grill (a traditional country meal that is fast disappearing), massive meal and some compensation for the septic smell . Leaving Nebo on the Fitzroy development road we headed south through Dingo to Biloela. A mine shutdown had lured hundreds of tradies into the town to assist and most lodging was gone, a short ride out to to Lake Callide near the power station for the night, where I met a lot of mad keen fisho's. They were on for a chat as the barra weren't biting and a good night and plenty of fishing tips came my way. Left Biloela on the Burnett Hwy noticing the good farming land up in the North Burnett region round Eidsvold. I had organised to meet up with a uralista friend in Goomeri but he and his wife were being covey tested and couldn't make it. He did however put me onto some great folk who run the Handlebar Haven in Kilkivan. The HH is sort of a free camp on their off the grid property where riders can drop in etc. My hosts Jock & Annie both ride and offered the use of their caravan. Great, no unpacking camp and a lovely home cooked meal. Lotsa riding stories into the night and a tour of their bike collection, Jock has crossed the Simpson on a postie bike a few times and Annie rides a big old Harley trike. Up in the morning and a short day to Goombungee to stay with an old shipmate from my Navy days. Explored a bit of the Bunya mountains where I hit a rock going down an incline, knocked the starboard muffler out of the pipe, no real damage so a bit of offroad maintenance and all good, Jack my dog doing the supervision and mandatory torque checks!! My mate, his wife and his mate ride Indians (geez there big and heavy). Couple of days later they provided an Indian escort up over the ranges to Kilcoy which is sort of the "pie in the sky" equivalent for the Brisbane area for bike riders. I had to slow the ural down a bit so they could keep up in the corners - and they were surprised their indians could go so slow in 6th gear!! Arrived later that day in Narangba to stay with family for a few days. Today I cross back into covey infested NSW via Nerang and up into the Tyalgum valley to meet another old shipmate. Queensland has been fun and it's with a bit of a strange feeling that once I cross into NSW I'll have to quarantine for 14 days if I want to cross back to Qld, let's hope they sort the border arrangements out soon. On the home stretch from here on ............... via the New England area and Bucketts and Thunderbolt way, so there's more good riding coming my way soon

Shame you didn't let us know a few days before that you were headed our way, There are Uralists dotted along the route from Gombungee to Narangba.
