FD Oil levels for 2014-2018 is 110ml - Check the manual specific to your bike. Just for info, the FD spewing oil was fixed by increasing the size of the internal cover splash plate in 2013 - Drive covers after that should only produce a fine mist unless, as Lee said, if it is worse than a mist then it was overfilled it or running hot. The hose breather mod may reduce water ingress during water crossings. I carry one in my travel kit just in case.

I have always run my breather with an open end facing downward. Done a gazillion water crossings and never had water in oil.
Andy, are you a night worker ?..........so many very early morning posts. 🤣👍

I run a finger from a Nitrile glove that just sits over the top of the breather. It sits out of the away alongside frame and battery. The 90ml level was out of the owners manual for a 2020 mod. Jake

Jake Ok cool , so it’s not a crazy idea👍 I haven’t had a big run , just a couple of 50k rides and it looks ok , the clear plastic bag seems pretty clean , a little bit of oil maybe. I’m going to do another oil change and measure how much comes out , my book says 90ml , so I guess if I put 90ml in , then if there’s a bit still in the final drive then I am overfilling it a tiny bit and this gets spat out the breather. I read somewhere that if the final drive is not misting some oil then it’s time to worry 🤣 I’m thinking it will take me some time to get used to what is normal with my baby.
