Just watched some Japanese Uralista doing some riding practice.
First, riding up a fairly steep and dirty hill. Then reversing down another track next to it. I then remembered an old trick of reversing up a changing hill in a car, taking advantage of a cars lower reverse gear ratio. So, does the Ural have a lower gear when ridden in reverse??

Urals are untidy reversing!....very very easy to lose control!....and never ever crack the throttle on when reversing!...The results can be ugly.😎

Yes reverse is a lower gear ratio than first.

Yes reverse is a lower gear ratio than first. Mate!..let’s try backing up a few hills because first won’t do it! 😎 edit...how about Mt Ben Lomond Tassie (when we all did it a few years ago)...backwards!

Mount Colliery, Killarney Qld pulled a few of us up. No way was anyone backing up it either. Just turning your Ural around to get the back end pointing uphill would have been fraught with complications.😎
