It's a long way around... but I like to whinge anyway. My options are to head up to Batemans Bay or through Melbourne if that's the case. Unlikely though...

Ross, it is only 150km more to do Highway 1 to Melbourne and then up through Ouyen. Our little group will be staying at Ouyen Saturday 6th.

My source in the Hawker/Leigh Creek area tell me the weather has been cruel up far North SA . Overnight another storm and rain dump with the another severe front expected today Monday 25th July. Usually at this time of the year its very cold but with way above average rain fall the conditions are exceptionally bad. Hopefully it might dry up in the next week or two but best be prepared for road closures and hence delays if this weather continues into next week. I don't want to sound negative , just feeding back some info on the conditions. [ I was a local lad from Port Augusta my patch with the railways went up to Marree , those dirt roads are like clay on your wheels builds up like putty until you grind to a halt ] cheers

Hmm, tank (touch wood) sealed, spines greased, spokes checked, tappets checked, fuel added. All that's left is to taker her for a run and change the oil, then she'll be ready for a ride somewhere
I wonder where we'll end up?

Never come across a water cooled Ural, maybe on the Innaminka track , so a new idea develops .
