Letter of support to URAL HQ and staff…
To Ilya, Madina and all staff of IMZ URAL worldwide,
Although we in Australia are far from the war being inflicted upon the people of Ukraine, we are of course affected by it, but our inconvenience pales into insignificance compared to the suffering of the Ukraine people and the ordinary workers and business owners of Russia.
Sanctions and tariffs are understandable and are absolutely preferable to an expanding war but they also hurt the ordinary people. From what we hear, the Russian economy has been smashed and the currency is falling through the floor. The employees at the Irbit factory and similar fellow workers across Russia will suffer just as badly as those in Ukraine that have lost housing, jobs and family.
From all of us who have become part of the URAL community or even feel like part of the URAL family, please believe you have our support. We have watched you overcome adversity numerous times over the past twenty odd years and also observed the continual commitment to improvement in production and service to us, your customers who remain proud to be recognised as part of the URAL Family.
The general feeling here in Australia is that this is Putins war. Not the Russian peoples war and not Ural’s war. We hope and pray for the survival and strength of both the Ukraine and Russian people to overcome this senseless destruction and loss of human life and that decency prevails so that the rebuilding of lives, families, businesses and cities can be the priority rather than war.
Your information updates are greatly appreciated and reflect your commitment to the URAL community. The honesty and transparency of your endeavours to circumvent the imposed sanctions are to be applauded. Again, we thank you and our thoughts are with each and every employee, as they are with the working people of Russia and Ukraine.
