Extract from Soviet Steeds www.facebook.com/UralMotorcycles/photos/a.380092527559/10159884646472560/?type=3OR Latest from Ural HQ: Dear Friends, We have been working on adjusting our operations to the new reality and we’d like to give you an update on the latest. 1) As we informed you earlier, the assembly of new motorcycles at our factory in Irbit has been suspended. Since our last update the situation with logistics in and out of Russia hasn’t improved. We are still not able to import components to the factory. 2) Majority of our suppliers are holding our orders patiently until we figure out when and how we can restart the assembly. Some suppliers, however, are pulling back from shipment of components to the factory which, among other things, amplifies the need for moving the final assembly outside of Russia. 3) We estimate approximately 6 months gap in supply of new motorcycles. As far as supply of parts made at the factory, we are cautiously optimistic about our ability to organize export logistics within a month. Our parts managers have been building up stock levels for a while in response to supply chain issues, it is now coming in handy. 4) We are having some success with moving the two stuck containers that have been sitting in port in Europe for over a month, and if all goes well, they will arrive to NY end of April/early May. 5) Our dealers have been extremely supportive of us and of each other as we all navigate the limited supply of bikes. Please contact your local dealer - they will help you find the Ural you want so you can enjoy this riding season to the fullest. We will start adjusting and correcting production plan for the remainder of the year and 2023 in the first week of April. If you are planning to place a custom order for future production, please contact your dealer as quickly as possible. When we receive information on actual orders, we can allocate production accordingly. We pray for peace and we thank you for your support. Be safe and stand by! The Team at Ural

Hi,
I was talking with Claire in Uralla the other day, my GU is for a March production. Depending on when Irbit actually ceased production, it may be 1/2 built, or at the top of the queue.
Just have to wait, wait, wait!!!
Hoping that Put-in finishes his road trip and buggers off back to somewhere else.

I'm assuming that a lot of people have received an e-mail from Clair at Ural Australia.
At least this one I will believe, as all the others I've seen have been 2nd or 3rd hand.
Not good.
Bugger!!!!!

It is April 1 but this is not a joke. Some folk have been very sceptical about the future of URAL and that is not surprising. However, those of us that have been with URAL for a long time have gained a certain faith in the company. I for one believe the company will survive and probably be re birthed, which may prove to be a good thing, even if the history of 81 years production in Siberia is lost. The following is the latest Update from URAL OZ.
Ural HQ Update, April 1st Dear Friends,
We are incredibly grateful for the support we’ve received over the course of these past few weeks. Coming from the Ural community it wouldn’t have been any other way. Ural is a small and fiercely independent company building sidecar motorcycles in Siberia. Yet, our challenges are nothing in comparison to the devastation and human suffering caused by the war in Ukraine. It's hard to find the words in this unfathomable reality; our hearts bleed for the victims and all we can repeat again and again is that this war must stop now.
As a business with responsibility to our customers, we want to make sure we keep you in the loop. Ural has been working on adjusting operations to the new reality and we’d like to give you an update on the latest. As you may be aware, the assembly of new motorcycles at our factory in Irbit has been suspended. The situation with logistics in and out of Russia is currently very difficult and hasn’t improved. Ural is still not able to import components to the factory. A majority of suppliers are holding our parts orders patiently until we figure out when and how we can restart the assembly. Some suppliers, however, are pulling back from shipment of components to the factory which, among other things, amplifies the need for moving the final assembly outside of Russia. Given this, we currently estimate there could be a 6-12 month gap in supply of new motorcycles to Australia and New Zealand, keeping in mind the already lengthy delays in shipping to Australia. As far as supply of parts made at the factory, Ural is cautiously optimistic about the ability to organise export logistics within a month. Our parts managers have been building up stock levels for a while in response to supply chain issues, it is now coming in handy. Ural will start adjusting and correcting the production plan for the remainder of the year and into 2023 in the first week of April. With the mention of new tariffs affecting the import of Urals into Australia, we are certainly working hard to avoid any potential impact this may have. If you have any questions regarding your current order or are interested in placing an order, please contact your dealer or us here at Ural Australia directly for more information. We pray for peace and thank you for your support.
Be safe and stand by! Clare, Mat and The Team at Ural

Does sound quite promising, I wish all the staff the very best and feel confident there will be a future for such a unique and addictive motorcycle. Can only imagine the stresses and planning involved and all due to such a senseless war that will create such heartbreak on all sides. Still dumbfounded that in 2022 we see such despair.

Funnily enough I feel the challenges experienced by the Company and the senseless aggression brought to bear on the poor Ukrainians (not to mention the ramifications for ordinary Russian citizens) has only strengthened my resolve to wait it out in support of Clare, Matt and the Ural IMZ team.

Well said Tvan and Myoman. I feel it appropriate for our Forum to show our support for the Company, the Russian workers and of course Ukraine. As such, I intend to write to URAL on behalf of us all and I hope all here can agree in that.

Cheers.

My father left Finland with my mother and new born son (me) because Russia had taken his home in Karelia. He never had any animosity towards the russian people, only their system of government that brainwashes and takes away freedom. We are so lucky to live in a country where you can express your opinion without the fear, and my heart is with the people of Ukraine, but also those in Russia who through no fault of their own do not have access to the truth about what is happening. I wholeheartedly agree with your intention to express in writing our support.
