Great photos guys and nice work. I must ask though, why you would want a hand shift other than "because you can" ? Hand off bar and throttle while changing, not to mention being away from the brake lever........all reminds me of a one armed wall paper hanger !
Ps. And your bikes are just way too clean.
Cheers, Lee

You know a one armed wall paper hanger ? lol. I only did it because I have a thing for hand shifts and I think it suits the style of the bike , most of the old British hand shift bikes had the lever on the right side as they all seemed to have a hand clutch , unlike Harley and Indian that used a foot clutch . I toyed with the foot clutch idea but because the bike is to new it would not be very legal apparently . It also confuses the hell out of people .

I guess there would be quite a few different ways of mounting these shifters . The sequence of gear shifting as you described is the same on my set up . Ever since installation the only gear changing I now do is all activated by the hand shifter even though the foot shifter is still attached . Once you get use to it , the hand shifter becomes the natural mode of gear change . As for why a hand shifter ? - the full tilt cool factor out weighs any reason of doubt !! Cheers Vic

When you are on a rocky dirt road with crests into hidden corners and creek crossings, trying to slow down, you can't take your hands off the bars! If you need a lower gear for that bit more drive in a left hander, you have to use the foot change.

Agreed . Given the scenario you described I would "cheat" and use the foot shifter .

Agreed . Given the scenario you described I would "cheat" and use the foot shifter . You'd also struggle with full throttle (holding throttle wide open) shifts from 4th to 3rd. These are the fastest and smoothest, and great fun.

Did you get my message about the jets Norm? Message received, replacements mailed last Saturday. I sent a couple of SMSs but it's appears they didn't get through to you.
