Full throttle from 4th to 3rd ? Sure thing. Get it right and it's like an automatic gear box changing down a cog. Highly recommended.

When going up a hill and running out of oomph, you need to change down a gear. Doing this the normal way, ie close throttle, pull clutch, rev engine to match road speed and engine speed, change gear, let out clutch and throttle on again, means you could loose another 10-20 km/h. Holding the throttle open, pulling clutch, shifting down and letting out clutch is a lot faster, and also quieter. It matches road/engine speed perfectly.
