I think I had bearings and not bushes fitted in the top eyes. I got them over a year ago and they were around 2300 for the set.

My initial impressions of HCS shocks and some engine temp stuff from my high comp 2022 on a 35c day.
Shocks from HCS Were delivered earlier in the week and installed. They had their first test today in 35 degree Centigrade heat. First was some 2nd gear urban driving with engine temps around 125 degrees C. Followed by a couple of freeway runs to 95kph for 135 C. Then some dirt at 80kph and temps then climbing on level ground to close to 140C. The last dirt section was up hill into some difficult to see potholes and corrugations at 65 to 70kph. Engine temps by this stage were about 142C rising to 144C for the last urban section to home. Over all the new HCS shocks are a significant improvement on pavement, with a greater noticable improvement on the dirt. The bike felt more planted and required less driver input. I also noted that Horst supplied longer lower bolts, but stll not long enough to get 1.5 to 3 threads past the nylok. This is complicated because it has also been suggested to leave the lower mounts loose enough at the front lower to flex. Anyway I got some longer 8,8 HT's to do the job.

I have done 150,000 km on the Sachs shocks and I am still here…despite my back pain and addled brain….🤣

I have just completed a 2 day ride of 650km with about 500 of it on dirt. The roads and tracks travelled covered the spectrum from high speed gravel to rocky creek crossings. The HCS. shocks performed admirably with the exception of down hill braking in corrugations or huge pot holes hidden in the shadows……….for that, there is no answer, other than stay home and watch TV. 😇 I will be very interested how the HCS shocks perform, one up and with a passenger.

I Just ordered a set of HCS shocks from Horst in Germany. So, thought I would update the process and cost for those interested. For information, these shocks are the same ones used by many of the Urals in the Diatlov Pass Video. Model CP 106. There is another model without the remote reservoir, but for purely on road use for less $$. Firstly the cost is 1200 Euro for a set of 5. Shipping is 110 Euro. So total of 1310 Euro. There is no VAT. This translated to a bit over $2040 Au.Cost of the money tranfer was $9.40.From memory the overall cost was very close to what Tvan paid last year. The process is quite simple. I used an international money transfer company called "Wise" They have banks in many countries including Australia.Bank transfer from my bank to theirs in Oz. Less than 24hrs later they have sent the equivalent in Euro to the recipient. Less than 24 hrs later they are packaged and shipped from Germany via DHL. A hugely efficient and cheap process in my opinion. Now the wait. As I understand there may be GST, but no duty.I will keep you posted when I get them. 4-7 weeks depending on Customs. Just paid $2112 used my Visa card probably would have saved using the debit card. All I need is a Ural now :-) What was the custom/GST charges 10%?

I have bitten the bullet and also ordered a set of shocks yesterday from Horst. Cost $2104 and some cents including Wise costs. Plus whatever the Aussie Government will charge when they get here. I have quit smoking at 70 years old. All being well (my willpower that is), I'll get the shocks for nothing in less than about 7.26 weeks. I was spending just under $290 per week. Thank God for Nicotine gum. Oops, gum costs money, better make that about 8 weeks. Any comments re fitting these or any advice will be much appreciated. I do have The Ural Guru living close by though for help.
