Would you believe $4000 for a set of Nitron at time of ordering. I've a few months to wait so thinking HCS at almost half the price is the way to go! ………And, you will have a full set of spares. 👍😇 Lots of instructions. Attachments:CP106 setting info.pdf (302.12 KB)

I have bitten the bullet and also ordered a set of shocks yesterday from Horst. Cost $2104 and some cents including Wise costs. Plus whatever the Aussie Government will charge when they get here. I have quit smoking at 70 years old. All being well (my willpower that is), I'll get the shocks for nothing in less than about 7.26 weeks. I was spending just under $290 per week. Thank God for Nicotine gum. Oops, gum costs money, better make that about 8 weeks. Any comments re fitting these or any advice will be much appreciated. I do have The Ural Guru living close by though for help. Yours will be on the road and well tested before mine, they will lie in wait until I get the signal to go to Uralla. Intend to get Mat to fit them, I'll take them down on my 1250RT, any excuse for a ride, in fact I'll drop in next Thursday to Ural HQ, doing an overnighter to Coonabarabran from Brisbane :-) I gave up smoking in 1964, wonder how much I saved since then?

Danny. The only issue (if you want to call it that) is a minor one in my opinion. Mine is a 2022 with the standard high pipe..The right side rear is near impossible to fit without disconnecting the exhaust clamps and brackets to allow the bolt to come out. The only other "issue" is the longer lower bolting, at the front is not quite long enough(in my view) to leave it slightly loose as suggested. There is less than the recommended 1.5 to 3 threads exposed beyond the nylock nut. I had 5 shocks on in a couple hours. One more comment. The Ural lower front shock bolt and nut is a fine thread. Horsts are not.

I think I read on here that Horst includes the longer bolts required. Does the thread matter or should it remain fine?I can always get extra bolts if needed.

My issue was getting the lower right bolt out past the 2022 exhaust. Just under the exhaust restricter valve. Its a 2022+ thing🤣🤣 The pitch of the bolting is relevant if you are using high tensile bolting and high torque numbers are called for. Most of the Ural bolting is high tensile 8.8 and not stainless steel. Many believe replacing the HT 8.8 with SS is better. When in fact SS is of lesser HT strength. Horsts are SS and of coarser thread. They may well be entirely adequate. So, my engineering brain, as limited as it is (I have no degree) can only offer this for consideration for each of us.

The stainless bolts are more than adequate…..and they stain less. 👍🤣
