I Just ordered a set of HCS shocks from Horst in Germany. So, thought I would update the process and cost for those interested. For information, these shocks are the same ones used by many of the Urals in the Diatlov Pass Video. Model CP 106. There is another model without the remote reservoir, but for purely on road use for less $$. Firstly the cost is 1200 Euro for a set of 5. Shipping is 110 Euro. So total of 1310 Euro. There is no VAT. This translated to a bit over $2040 Au.Cost of the money tranfer was $9.40.From memory the overall cost was very close to what Tvan paid last year. The process is quite simple. I used an international money transfer company called "Wise" They have banks in many countries including Australia.Bank transfer from my bank to theirs in Oz. Less than 24hrs later they have sent the equivalent in Euro to the recipient. Less than 24 hrs later they are packaged and shipped from Germany via DHL. A hugely efficient and cheap process in my opinion. Now the wait. As I understand there may be GST, but no duty.I will keep you posted when I get them. 4-7 weeks depending on Customs.

I have asked Clare at Ural Uralla if I could have Nitron shocks as an upgrade hope to hear this week. If it's too much will hold off for HCS. Good idea to use Wise I use it to send $ to a son in Tokyo secure and low cost. I intend the Ural now to be a replacement for my 07 Dakar so plenty of off road.

Would you believe $4000 for a set of Nitron at time of ordering. I've a few months to wait so thinking HCS at almost half the price is the way to go!

Welcome Phil. Yes, I thought so too. The cost falls pretty well between the Ikon (Koni) and the Nitrons. There are others, mostly French built and another distributer from the US. Whos name escapes me. I dont think our US vs AU exchange rate is very helpful at this time either.
