Hi All For those of you coming to Tenterfield I have spoken with a friend who has (3 generations) of local knowledge about the roads and tracks east of Tenterfield around Rocky River (off the end of Steinbrook Rd) and Timbarra Road. She has offered to be a tour guide for a day or two and show you around in places that only a local who owns land there (32,000 acres actually) would know about. Old gold mines, a tundra swamp 1100 m above sea level, old Chinese diggings, and some of the best three wheeler accessible tracks and scenery in Tenterfield. (I've been there a few times and can vouch that it would definitely be a good day.)
She is a busy person. I understand you're all getting here on the 8th of May. It would be good to know which day or days you'd like a tour of the Rocky and Timbarra?
I have another guide who knows everything there is to know about an area called Rivertree. It is where three large creeks meet and form the Clarence near Liston. I've been there a couple of times too. If anyone wanted a guide to show you the old silver mining areas and the general area near Liston I'm sure that can be arranged too. It's not as 'Raiders of the Lost Ark' as the Timbarra and Rocky area, and it's a bit more open and easier dirt riding, but it's still interesting.
Cheers
Terry and Fiona Tenterfield NSW
PS. We went to Uralla yesterday to test ride a Ural for the first time and are hooked. Will be buying a Sahara before Christmas

We went to Uralla yesterday to test ride a Ural for the first time and are hooked. Will be buying a Sahara before Christmas In response to the kind offer from Terry I gave him a call and have organised Sat 11th May to have a guided tour to an interesting part of Tenterfield well suited to our Ural capabilities with maybe a barbecue lunch thrown in. Should be a good day and an interesting ride. Terry and Fiona will hopefully be coming along with us. Rob and I have offered seats in our sidecars but it would be great if they could share rides with others that have spare seats. It looks like Terry and Fiona will have their very own Ural in the near future. Thanks go to Terry and Fiona for their interest and enthusiasm in ARSTY19. Rest assured all the other rides at both Tenterfield and Killarney will be interesting and varied and looking forward to catching up with everyone soon. Cheers Wheels😎

Wheels - would the Saturday 11th run suit a day trip from Brissy? - I can't get down for much of the event but would like to catch up even if I have to head home at the end.

Brisbane to Tenterfield......3.5 hours ? or might it be 4.0 on a Ural ? We usually start our rides about 9:00..... are yo an early riser ? 🤣🤣🤣

Long way for a day ride Andy. An early start would be in order for you. The Saturday ride certainly won’t be any further than 200kms but will take up most of the day so a Saturday night stopover would be the go. Robyn and I rode from Killarney to Rosedale and back for a cup of coffee! all depends on how keen you are mate you can only give it your best shot. It would be good to have you along. Cheers Wheels😎
