Still a long way to go. I have been doing some testing, purely observing the data output live from the Ural data collection module. "A racer" All obsevations are with passenger, 10lt fuel and the usual spares. Ambient temps between 25c to 35c. Standard plugs, gapped at 1mm.. Testing so far over the same course about 2 weeks apart. Keep in mind the engine temp sensor is on the right head and just below the EFI throttle body. Engine temps at 80 to 90kph were 125 to 135c. Modest speeds 50 to 60kph caused an increase to 140c ish. Some fairly slow but technical first gear, level ground activity saw temps rise to 154c. No pinging that I could detect, unless I was lazy and induced it by poor gear selection. More to follow.

As some are aware, the 2022 models do start to ping a bit when under load and when hot. I've had the updated map installed, but there is still a bit of pinging going on under load.
Heya Miker, ours has slight pinging etc, what is the updated map you talk of? Ours is a 22 model sold in March 23, slight fumble off the bottom and some wrongful riding today had a coupla pings. Heading to Eurobrit in Melbourne in a few days, can they do the mapping do you know? Cheers Andi

It is supposed to be installed at the 500km service. They do ping a little with the new map, but nothing like the pinging I had. Make sure you always use 98 octane fuel, if you can’t get 98, always add an octane booster. There’s also a dealer in Albury, whose name escapes me at the moment.

Coolio thank you, should have 5 hundy on her by then.
We stuck is 95 today so will boost it tomorrow with 98, will get Octane Booster for the outback fills 👍.
Edit, can a Euro 4map be run in a 22?, they obviously are slightly richer?
Cheers Andi

Andi, I dunno what a Euro 4 map is, but the Euro 5 map came out with the Gen II EFI by Keihin. The pre 2019 EFI was Digijet I think, so I couldn't say either way.

Heya miker, Jaiman at Eurobrit wasn't sure and is going to ask, we will be there Monday or Tuesday ish to pick up a gear lever and see what we can discover, will have about 7 Hundy on her by then so might even through some fresh blood in her.
He said in between he will ask K Stan and let us know.
His suggestion is 98 all the way if we can...which we can't for the next coupla days heading to Snow Drift dunes, will just have to be more considerate on the throttle in between 👍

What have you done to the gear lever? Nothin
The fello we bought her from has a prosthetic leg on the left, he bought the bike to do a trip round Ozz but it wouldnt't work with the seating and gear change position.
Long story short he tried to make it work but the gear lever is fairly well cut up and altered to the point we will get a replacement.

Just out of interest. Heff Lgm the tour operator in Wauchope wrecked his ankle. A mate of his made a hand shifter for the left side, staight off the gearbox spline. The game changer was, he put the clutch lever on the shifter stick as well. Worked like a charm. Clutch in, yank on the lever, Clutch out.
