Heya miker, Jaiman at Eurobrit wasn't sure and is going to ask, we will be there Monday or Tuesday ish to pick up a gear lever and see what we can discover, will have about 7 Hundy on her by then so might even through some fresh blood in her. He said in between he will ask K Stan and let us know. His suggestion is 98 all the way if we can...which we can't for the next coupla days heading to Snow Drift dunes, will just have to be more considerate on the throttle in between 👍 When I got mine in June 2022. The then dealer said it needed to have an updated EFI map. It was a standard procedure at the time to do it on the first service, or prior to delivery.
It may be that any new bikes delivered after say March 2022 would have had the updated map installed prior to shipping, but you wouldn't know until it's been plugged in to the dealer scanner. If it's pinging like a basterd, it should at least be checked. If it pings a little under load and on a hot day after a long run... you may be fine. The 95 fuel is also going to help it ping a bit.
A call to Mat in Uralla may be worth it if Jaiman doesn't get a straight answer. It should be a 10 minute job to check it, and reload it if necessary.

Evening gents
So the lowdown is the Euro5 are preset and that is what you get, this is the latest, these higher compression engines love the top shelf wine but they also run a lot better, Скиппи has markedly more go and smoother with 98, tomorrow I will do the valves as well so we know she is primo, 1134km today we got her serviced at Eurobrit and they went out of their way to put her through, great service, onya lads 🤙👍

Kiwi's you are correct. The only adjustment is in the throttle bodies via the cable tension. This is how the throttle bodies are balanced. The idle screw is locked out as well. The question is, do you have the latest remap for the 2022. All of us got that at first service. Nothing is "locked out" when talking a remap. Make very sure NOW. Not when you are in the middle of nowhere. Far, far away from Uralla and Eurobrits. Pinging its head off. Yes we have great warranty, but I'd rather not deal with the inconvenience.

Talked with Matt while ordering a screen today and ours being a late 22 delivered March 23 means no changes for us as the gen 2 map is already in.
Wanted to do the tappits today but ended up helping friends out that we are staying with so tomorrow will do.
I did manage to gap the plugs that were a tad under 0.90 so I gapped them to 1 mm per spec.
Tomorrow we are going to look flat rubber to make a plate under the spare as all the dohickythingiemabobs had moved.

Ok If Matt said your good to go, you have it from the "horses mouth" There was a very early post on how to fix the "dokickies" with stuff from Bunnings. Do a search on here.Last word on tappet gap. In 2022 the gap changed on the exhaust side. First time in decades I think. Check your manual. Exh and inlet were the same at .004". Now is 006" on the exhaust and .004" inlet.

Thanks for the heads up Haitch, our manual still say 0.10 for each and I was wondering with the HC pistons and a little more heat so will defo do that.
I run the shim gap minimally bigger on our Kato 950 and it runs a lot cooler although it is clickier when cold.

What a lovely gesture from H, going back to the 60’s with imperial measurements for our Kiwi friends……. 🤣🤣 Certainly pre 19 the engines ran better set on the minimum gap. 0.05-0.1 (08 manual). I found 0.05 on the inlets a smoother idle and never had valve issues on. 900000km engine. It has been on my list to check clearances hot some time, just to see what the “real” clearances are. At 0.05mm they must increase when hot or I wo7ld have lost valves years ago. So far I have set my 21 at 0.10 all valves. I do have a 2010 manual that states 0.1-0.15

LEE The 2022 manual also states 0.004"inlet and 0.006" exhaust. Just in case it was a misprint, I spoke to Matt at Uralla and he in turn spoke with HQ who advised it is not a typo. PS. I don't own metric feeler guages. Still using the ones which came in my toolkit as a "Ford" apprentice. You, like me, are similar vintage so I can work in either imperial or metric as I'm sure you can too.😄😄

What a lovely gesture from H, going back to the 60’s with imperial measurements for our Kiwi friends……. 🤣 Well I am impressed too 😁, feelin the love, fortunately I do understand both being in the changeover period being 57 years young. So, I went to adjust the tappets and could not budge the 13mm nuts for love nor money, ended up splitting a socket 😑 Obviously Yuri tightened them up with a pneumatic rattle gun so I rode back to Eurobrit and I popped the covers and cracked my nuts 😳 Tomorrow I will have to start again BUT I did gap the plugs to 1mm from about .87 and what a difference as to early open throttle as it is nowhere near as fumbly now so hoping the tappets will make it better again.

And it is saying 0.10mm (0.004") for both inlet and exhaust??
