Mount vertically at rear SC mounting and fit the feeder at the front mount. Extra battery can be mounted to rear right side of SC body. Waste of time having a winch unless you have an extra battery.
Will take photo for you a bit later today.

Just wanting any info ,experiences with winch setup, positioning, auxiliary battery etc, Cheers Pokey. Check out these folks!...good reports! www.kalabercreations.comCheers Wheels😎 Note...Lee is right on! a winch without an auxiliary battery is not good. A Ural battery without the engine running wouldn’t last long powering even a small winch under load. Get stuck in a river crossing with an engine that has quit (happened to my girl and I... both bikes) and a winch without an auxiliary battery is going to get untidy😎

Just wanting any info ,experiences with winch setup, positioning, auxiliary battery etc, Cheers Pokey. G'day Pokey, here's my setup. Installed five years ago and used about four or fives times in 2018 on my way to Surveyor Generals Corner and very happy with it. Winch is mounted approx. amidships (50mm off centre actually) and works well with no tendency pull one way the other. 'A' frame mount picks up on existing sidecar body mounting points so the load is transferred to the bottom crossmember under the sidecar body. Auxiliary battery is a 20Ah Gel job - electrically identical to the bikes main battery. The std. Nippon-Denso alternator has no trouble charging both batteries. Aux. and main are wired in parallel via a Sidewinder isolator with a switch to isolate the auxiliary if needed. I fitted a voltmeter so I could check the condition of the auxiliary battery. I can switch it on when I want to check the volts.

Hi Pokey, I thought about a winch and as Lee says you’d probably need another dedicated battery. Being an old navy man I went for the low tech solution- 2 double pulleys and 30m of 8mm synthetic rope (breaking strain about 1350kg). The two double pulleys spreads the load over 4 lengths of rope thereby 1/4 ing the amount of weight in the pull. 400kg Ural (laden) then takes 100kg of pull. This system has the same disadvantage of a winch in that you need to attach it to a fixed object. It is a lot cheaper and lighter than a winch though😃
