While I am still a noooob on Urals and I don't know how the gearbox goes together, is your engine lazy in all gears?, is it spritely up till 3rd then dead in 4th?, just thinkin sideways here could it be a problem with 4th gear?, too tight, crush fit, over tightened, over thrusted, Lee could this possibly be something or possibility? Possible, but after 15000km I would think a “tight box” would have festered into a bigger problem……..he is in WA so maybe riding in sand. 🤣🤣 4th in sand....ours will have pinged itself to pieces by then 😂 Hmmmm, back to the drawing board thinking for this issue.

I had a similar thing happened and it was my head was lose.similar but different? Not that as the OP has said - "Hot compression is 165 psi both sides"
Agree though, a loose head will do that and I know because I have had the same - Mat diagnosed that one. Someone forgot to torque one side and it wasn't me for a change.

Still thinking outside the square here, is it possible further down the line, say tight final drive, bearings, universal joint, pinion bearing etc just enough to cause forth to say no?

Bozo says the bike rolls easily, so that should eliminate tightness.

I'm also a newb to Urals, mine is a 2020, 1wd
I went for a ride today, all was good at 80kmh, all good at 90kmh, (probably a bit left in the speedo, but there are laws!).
Stopped at a red light, took off, got to 80kmh, then seemed to struggle!
My thoughts came to this thread!
Contemplated my navel for a mili-second, backed off the throttle, took another handful of throttle, and I was back up to 80kmh, no problems!
Similar things have happened on other bikes also!
Make sure the throttles are opening all the way up, not sure how to do that on a fuel injector, but make sure you are all the way to the throttle stop.
Just my 2 cents worth.

Now, it's got me thinking too. I installed heated grips on mine when it was almost new. I made sure there was plenty of free wiring (for the grips) from idle all the way to full throttle. Everything was great, until summer. I didn't stick the grips to the bars, as it took such an effort to slide them on anyway. However, in the hot weather, and after using the grips on high, the throttle grip started to move backward on the sleeve. I didn't realise this until our Tasmania trip in March last yea when I felt like I was on full throttle, but it was the wiring loom for the grips stretching out preventing the grip from turning any further, and not allowing me to achieve full throttle.
I've since glued the grips to the plastic sleeve and it's not been a problem since.

Hi all . There is a metal plate under the whirlygig that protects the throttle cable under the throttle bodies. I have noticed it does bend and restricts, perhaps even limits full throttle. Check it allows full rotation of the butterfly.
